    Yale Acres is located in a residential neighborhood setting on Broadvale Road, Broadvale Court, Gilbert Road, Elizabeth Road and Elizabeth Court.  The property includes 47 multi-unit buildings totaling 162 units.   Yale Acres is located only one mile from downtown Meriden and public transportation is provided daily with bus stops running throughout the development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In 2020, Yale Acres was redeveloped with new exterior treatments, new interior finishes new kitchens which include Energy-Star appliances and new cabinets\/countertops, resurfacing hardwood floors and new flooring throughout.  Site enhancements include paving and new sidewalks, fencing, LED outdoor lighting throughout the property and improved drainage.  The rehabilitation also included improving performance of the heating and cooling system to achieve greater energy efficiency by installing geothermal technology which will reduce the operating cost for over 40 years.  Solar PV was installed on rooftops which will reduce electric bills considerably, and overhead electrical lines were buried underground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Coming Soon!<\/em><\/strong> Meriden Housing Authority plans on building a 45,000 facility community and warming center replacing the current onsite management offices that offers necessary services, a community garden and greenhouse. It will provide emergency services in blackouts. Additionally, a micro-grid grant will be submitted for the center. That facility will have a steam generated power plant and emergency generation to provide power to the Center and to nearby units for at-risk families, seniors and the handicapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
